What's New at Home Link
END OF COURSE EXAMS IN MAY!
End-of-Course Exams are coming up soon for all high school students who need them for Algebra, Geometry and Biology. Exams will take place on the following dates:
- Algebra - Monday, May 21 at 1:30 p.m. in Clayton
- Geometry - Monday, May 21 at 11:00 a.m. in Clayton
- Biology - Friday, May 25 at 9:00 a.m. in Deer Park
ART SHOW SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE THIS THURSDAY!The Annual Art Show will again be a part of our Home Link Fair! Your art work entries must be submitted to Connie no later than this Thursday, May 17th by 4:00 pm. See connie for entry forms and further details.

|  | *REGISTRATION PAPERWORK & 2012-2013 LEARNING PLANS
Please note that registration paperwork is due! If you live out of district, you must have a DISTRICT TRANSFER FORM signed by your school district's superintendant and returned to Connie. LEARNING PLANS can now be entered for 2012-2013! It's important to get started on them as soon as possible. FYI!When you enter learning plans for next year, please remember to set it to the right year...2013,otherwise it will be entered into 2012 again. Thank you!

| THE SPRING PLAY IS UPON US!
The Home Link Drama Club will be performing the nostalgic play "I Remember Mama." Performances are scheduled for Friday, May 18th and Saturday, May 19th at the Ken Fischer Theater at DPHS. The Friday matinee' starts at 3:00 pm and the Saturday matinee' starts at 2:30 to 4:30pm and the evening presentations run from 7:00 to 9:00 pm both days. Saturday shows require tickets (free). Please pick them up at the front desk. Come and support our Drama Club, you will love the show! |

MAY/JUNE PROGRESS SUMMARIES UPDATE!Starting this year, it is necessary to enter progress summaries for June: so, for May, you will enter your students' progress summaries as usual, documenting what they have done in May. For June you will enter what you have planned for them to be doing at that time. You can enter both May and June progress summaries at the same time.
END-OF-YEAR CERTIFICATION OF HOURSPlease note that certification of hours verification will be needed for June. We will be doing this manually, on paper, rather than on the computer since we'll be out by then. Connie will have a document for you to mark off regarding June Certification AFTER MAY 21st! Please state the number of hours based on your child's grade and the average hours per week specified in the Student Learning Plan. Please feel free to ask for help with this if needed! Thank you for your patience with all of this!

MAP ASSESSMENT NOTES
Assessment results from Monday, May 14th are available
Map assessments are done on Mondays at the Clayton Campus. To view assesment results online, log in then click Student Assessments. To sign up for MAP assessments online, log in to the Home Link website, then click Events Signup. Look for the Monday you want your child assessed then click the plus sign to schedule your child for Map Assessment. Assessment results will be posted by the following Wednesday.

MEMO: MAY 14TH - 18TH
· OUR OWN DRAMA DEPARTMENT'S PERFORMANCE OF “I REMEMBER MAMA” IS THIS WEEK. The dates/times are Fri, May 18th, at 3 and 7 pm, and Sat. May 19th, at 2:30 and 7 pm. These performances will all be at The Ken Fisher Performing Arts Theater, Deer Park High School. Tickets are required for the Sat. 7:00 p.m. performance only. The tickets are free and available at the front desk.
· THE ANNUAL STUDENT ART SHOW WILL AGAIN BE A PART OF OUR HOME LINK FAIR. Art work must be submitted to Connie no later than this Thursday, May 17th, at 4:00 P.M. Connie has entry forms and information.
· GYMNASTICS MEET: Fri, May 25th at 6:00 in our D.P. gym. Come!
· COUNTRY WESTERN END-OF-THE-YEAR FAIR! When? Monday, June 4th. Time? 10:30 am. until 2 pm. There'll be large tricycles and track, pony hop races, spin art, scavenger hunt, cotton candy, popcorn, lunch, Dance and Drill and Hip Hop performances, Martial Arts demo and sooo much more! Here's the agenda:
10:30 a.m.-Check in at the front desk to get your tickets for the food items, unless you picked them up the week before. (Tickets will be given to all Home Link family members.)
10:30 am. -Dance and Drill performance in the gym.
10:45-11:00 am. -Hip Hop Performance in the gym
11:00- 11:20 -Martial Arts demonstration in the gym
12:00-1:30 pm.-Lunch served in the gym
It takes 40 volunteers to make this day fun for all. Parents, if you would like to give one hour of your time to help at a booth please sign up today!
· SPIRIT WEEK, May 29th-31st
Tuesday the 29th-Western Day; Wednesday the 30th- Disney Day; Thursday the 31st- Formal Day . Prizes will be awarded daily, at lunchtime, for the best dressed.
REMEMBER-Graduation: Friday, June 8th, 7:00 p.m. at Turning Point. All are welcome to come and celebrate with this year's graduating class!
And lastly, those Learning Plans in for next year? Good!
Progress Reports for May and June? Do them at the same time. May's reports will reflect what your son/daughter accomplished this month, like always. Then, input June's reports with June's ANTICIPATED accomplishments. Your consultants will soon be finished, at home, and laughing and waving their bare feet in the sun. Join them! |
