We are a Parent Partnership Program where parents of home schooled children and teachers from the Deer Park School District work together to define the educational goals and materials our parents and students use at home. The first session of Home Link started in September 2000 with 38 students. Today, we have over 500 students. We also provide core and enrichment classes at our Deer Park and Clayton campuses.

Oh no, the Student Learning Plan is doggin' me again! Next year's Written Student Learning Plan staring you in the face?

If you are feeling energetic and need something to fill some time, you can enter next year's learning plan:
Click on Student Learning Plan on the left.
  • Click in the School Year text box and change the school year to 2009.
  • Click the Change School Year button.
  • Click on Student Learning Plan next to your child's name.
    • Also, Dr. Mike talks nutrition and health.
    Also, Mrs. Dr. Mike talks philosophy.

    · Dance Performance at the Bing Crosby Theatre, THIS Thursday at 7:00 pm
    Come share a night with our Irish Dance and Ballet Classes! Tickets are not needed to attend this program. All Home Link families and friends are welcome! This is always a night to remember!

    · Library Notice: THIS Friday, May 9th is the last day to check out items from our libraries. All items must be returned by Friday, May 16th. You will be receiving a notice in your mailbox of all items that have been checked out by anyone in your family. If there is an item listed about which you have questions, please call either library.

    · Next Year’s Learning Plans! Plans must be in by the end of the school year. Once your plans are completed, pick up your LARGE chocolate bar at the front desk! It’s easy – so come on in!!!

    · Paper Work for Next Year. Check with the front desk to make sure all of your paper work has been completed for next year. The End of the Year Fair is fast approaching and all forms must be turned in before getting tickets for the fair. Also, all paper work and plans must be in before you can register for next year’s classes.

    · Ella Enchanted, May 17th, 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm in the Deer Park Gym
    The Drama Class’s final performance is coming up! Don’t forget to pick up your tickets at the front desk.

    · Kindergarten and 8th grade Graduation, Thursday, May 30th at 7:00 pm
    If your child has completed Kindergarten or 8th grade this year and you would like them to participate in the graduation celebration, please sign them up today!

    Dates to Remember:
    -The End of the Year Fair - June 3rd, 11:00
    -Graduation at the Bing Crosby Theatre - June 6th at 7:00 pm (no tickets required)

    · ITBS testing – June 9th – 12th for grades 3 through 12. Sign up at the front desk if you want to participate in the Iowa Test of Basic Skills.

    · Individual Assessments are available in June
    If you have concerns about your child’s academic progress, you may contact Ginny Beadle at 468-3350 to schedule an assessment. Ginny will be doing individual assessments the first two weeks in June to help determine your child’s current grade level.
