Homelink Web Logo
We are a Parent Partnership Program where parents of home schooled children and teachers from the Deer Park School District work together to define the educational goals and materials our parents and students use at home. The first session of Home Link started in September 2000 with 38 students. Today, we have over 500 students. We also provide core and enrichment classes at our Deer Park and Clayton campuses.

NO SCHOOL VETERANS’ DAY NEXT WEDNESDAY – NOV. 11TH
All district schools and offices will be closed next Wednesday for Veterans’ Day. We will be back in business the next day, with classes as scheduled.

THANKSGIVING BREAK
There will be no Home Link classes the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Classes will resume the following week on Monday, Nov. 30th.

ALL EVENTS NOW HAVE ON-LINE SIGN UP!!!
You no longer have to come in and find the clip board to sign up for Home Link events. Just go on-line and choose “Events Sign Up” on the menu to sign up for any events. We are becoming soooo technologically with it!! Thanks again, Mike!

MAPS ASSESSMENT THROUGH NOVEMBER
The fall testing window for MAPs will remain open until Thanksgiving break. We will be offering the test for the next three Fridays in the Deer Park computer lab. You can sign up on-line!! There will then be a break until January when the winter testing window will start for those who are ready for either their first or second assessment of the year. It is recommended that you allow at least three months between tests to allow for some instruction time and to get good information about your children’s progress.

WRITING CONTEST FOR GRADES 9 – 12
The high school writing contest begins today (Nov. 2nd) and will go until Dec. 10th. Winners will be announced in January after the break. The guidelines for the entries are posted in the libraries.

RESOURCE LIBRARY
Kathy could sure use some help labeling all those books! If you have a few extra minutes as you are waiting for your children, she would appreciate any time you could give her. Thank you to all who have so faithfully and quietly worked in our resource library!

CHRISTMAS CRAFT SALE COMING SOON – MONDAY, DEC. 7TH.
Contact Kathy Starr (292-0111) if you would like to be a vendor at the sale.

QUOTABLE QUOTE
The trouble with being punctual is that nobody’s there to appreciate it.
